Welcome to Interfaith House
Interfaith House’s mission is to provide a healing environment and resources to help ill and injured homeless adults restore their health, rebuild their lives and regain self sufficiency
Since opening our doors, Interfaith House has served over 6,600 homeless men and women at our 64-bed facility in Chicago’s Garfield Park neighborhood. We play a unique role among the network of groups addressing the challenges faced by the Chicago area’s homeless population, filling what was a service gap. Interfaith House helps homeless adults with medical recovery needs that cannot be appropriately addressed in a shelter environment. Most of our residents come to us directly from a hospital or clinic. We were the first, and remain the only such organization in Illinois.
Click your heels three times: there was no place like LIFE @ home on June 23rd, the date of Interfaith House’s 2010 fundraising extravaganza! Held at the Mid-America Club on the 80th floor of the Aon Center, the Gala took place as Chicago weathered an unprecedented tornado warning, which had guests temporarily huddled in interior hallways with cocktails in hand away from the magnificent views — and glass — of the Club’s floor-to-ceiling windows. While the monsoon-like weather prevented nearly half the guests from even making it to the event, those who did make it partied away and were rewarded with spectacular post-storm views across the city.
LIFE @ home honored the Legal Team of Jordan H. Peters, Robert M. Baratta, Jr., Mitchell A. Carrel and Kimberly L. Schott from the firm of Freeborn and Peters, and Interfaith House alumni Charlie Redditt of Green Image Landscaping.
Guests who made their way to the Gala were treated to a delicious buffet, a raffle and silent & live auctions with Bill Pritchard serving as our Emcee and Auctioneer. Despite the weather, Gala Co-Chairs Steven Gerschoffer of Crowe Horwath and Trey Gonzales of Holly Hunt, Ltd., and the Gala Committee raised $142,000 to aid Interfaith House programs helping homeless men and women restore their health, rebuild their lives and regain self-sufficiency.
